Privacy Policy

How I handle information on UTD Faithfuls, in plain words.

Last updated: October 28, 2026 · Written and maintained by the site owner

I run this site myself and wrote this policy myself. I explain what I collect, why, and what choices you have. If anything is unclear, write to me and I will answer.

Summary

UTD Faithfuls offers a free wood elf name generator. I built it to collect as little as possible. In short:

  • You do not need an account.
  • The names you generate are made in your browser. I do not receive them.
  • If you press Save on a name, it is stored in your own browser on your own device.
  • I use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages help people. It sets cookies. Details are below.
  • I only receive personal information if you choose to email me.
  • I do not sell personal information.

Who I am

This policy covers the website at utdfaithfuls.one (“the site”). I am the independent owner and sole editor of the site, so when you read “I” it means me. You can reach me at contact@utdfaithfuls.one or through the Contact page.

Information I collect

Information you give me

If you write to me, I receive your name, your email address and your message. I use it only to answer you and to improve the site. The contact form opens your own email app. It does not send your message to a database.

Information stored on your device

If you press Save on a name, the tool stores that name in your browser’s local storage. It stays on your device and I cannot read it. You can remove it with the Remove or Clear buttons, or by clearing your browser’s site data.

Visit statistics from Google Analytics

The site uses Google Analytics 4, a service from Google. It records things like the pages you view, roughly where in the world you are, your device and browser type, how you arrived, and how long you stay. Google designs Google Analytics 4 not to log or store individual IP addresses. I use this data in total form to see what is useful and what needs fixing. I do not use it to identify you, and I do not combine it with anything you tell me.

Server logs

The server that hosts the site normally records basic technical data such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. My hosting provider keeps these logs for security and to keep the site running. I do not use them to identify you.

What I do not collect

I do not ask for payment information. I do not run user accounts. I do not collect sensitive personal information, and I do not run advertising networks or social media trackers on the site.

How I use information

  • To answer your messages and requests.
  • To understand which pages and styles people use, so I can improve them.
  • To keep the site secure and working.
  • To find and fix bugs.
  • To meet legal duties, if any apply.

Cookies and similar technology

Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to tell visits apart. The Cookies Policy lists them one by one and explains how to block or delete them. The Save feature in the tool uses local storage, which is not a cookie.

Third-party services and links

The only third-party service I load is Google Analytics. Google processes the data it collects under its own terms. You can read how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Some pages may link to other websites. I do not control them and I am not responsible for their privacy practices.

If I add another third-party service later, such as advertising, I will update this policy before it goes live.

Your choices

You can stop Google Analytics from measuring your visits by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, by blocking cookies in your browser, or by using a browser or extension that blocks trackers. The site and the generator work the same either way.

How long I keep information

I keep emails you send me only as long as needed to answer you and keep a reasonable record, then I delete them. Analytics data is kept in Google Analytics under the retention period I have set there, and then removed. Server logs are kept by my host for a short period under its own rules. Saved names stay on your device until you remove them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information I hold about you, to ask me to correct or delete it, to object to how I use it, or to ask for a copy. Because I hold very little, the most common case is an email you sent me. To make a request, write to contact@utdfaithfuls.one. I may need to confirm who you are before I act.

If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or California, you can also contact your local data protection authority or attorney general if I have not solved a concern.

Children’s privacy

The site is made for a general audience and is not aimed at children under 13. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent me personal information, please contact me and I will delete it.

Security

I take reasonable steps to protect the site and the little information I receive. No method of sending or storing data is completely secure, so I cannot promise absolute security.

International visitors

The site can be visited from anywhere. Google and my hosting provider may process data in countries other than your own. By using the site you understand that this can happen.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time. When I do, I will change the date at the top of the page. If a change is large, I will make it easy to see.
