About UTD Faithfuls
I built this site to do one job well. It helps you find a wood elf name that sounds right.
Why I started this site
Naming a character can stall a game night or a whole chapter. I kept running into the same problem. Online name lists were long, messy and full of names that sounded alike. I started UTD Faithfuls with one purpose, a faster and cleaner way to name one kind of character, the wood elf.
Why the name
UTD is short for united. Faithfuls means loyal followers. Together they describe a clan that stays close through every quest, and clans sit at the heart of elf stories. It is also why each list includes a clan name by default.
How the names are built
I wrote every word part and meaning for this tool myself. The generator pairs the parts, runs a sound check, and shows each result with its meaning. The check keeps names between 4 and 12 letters and drops hard clusters of consonants, so the lists read well out loud. You can see the exact rules on the generator page.
The meanings are invented for storytelling. They are not words from a real language, and I say so wherever they appear.
How I keep it accurate
I test the tool on phones, tablets and computers in current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge. When I find a bug or a weak word part, I fix it and update the date on the page. Facts about Dungeons & Dragons come from the 5th edition Player’s Handbook, and I label them as such. If you spot a mistake, please tell me.
What you can count on
- Free to use. No accounts, payments or limits.
- Plain answers. Each page says what the tool does and what it cannot promise.
- Clear privacy. The Privacy Policy lists exactly what I collect, including the basic visit statistics I use to improve the site.
- No hidden promotion. The site has no ads, and I do not sell anything.
Who runs it
UTD Faithfuls is an independent project that I run myself. No game company or sports club owns it, sponsors it or reviews it. Trademark details are in the Disclaimer.
